Greg went for his checkup yesterday, and we found out that he is the 1%.  Well, 5% anyway.  He's in the 95th percentile for height and weight, 25 and a quarter inches, and 14 lbs. 11 oz.  He weighs a pound more than Biggie did at this age, and I thought he was a chubber.

He likes the mobile in his bassinet but hardly ever sleeps in it. And now he's almost too big! One one hand I'm proud of how big my babies are, because it means they're getting plenty enough breastmilk,  but on the other I wish they could stay little forever. And I don't even get as long as most mothers do.

I gave my dollhouse away this week. Making it with my Mom is one of my fondest memories from childhood. But we just didn't have the storage space for it here, so I gave it to a woman with two daughters. The memories I kept.

When we came back from lunch yesterday, a squirrel had knocked over our pumpkin and was eating it.

Cookie Monster, I left you in charge. You really fell down on the job with this one.

The sweetest gift a mother could ask for, two babies napping at the same time.

My Dad came yesterday. He's staying for two weeks, and Matthew is still on vacation this upcoming week, so I'll have a lot of help for a little while.

I can't get over how light Gregory is. I know he's big for a newborn, but compared to carrying Brendan around its like holding a bag of cotton candy.

Gregory Thomas arrived on the scene at 2:38 a.m. today. He weighs 8 lbs. 11 oz. and is 20.5 inches long. I'm very happy to say I was able to have a successful VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). I feel great, and baby is healthy and doing fine.

Ugh, well yesterday was a bust. I was hoping I'd have a baby by now, but my contractions slowed down when I took a nap that afternoon.

I tried going to mass, but I left halfway through. I think I was making the parishioners around me very nervous. I was trying to be discreet when I had contractions, but I was still gripping the chair in front of me and breathing heavily.

My midwives really need to call me back. They said to call when I was 10 minutes apart and I'm 5 minutes right now.

I think Gregory is trying to kick his way out through my belly button.  Ouch.  Its not an innie or an outie anymore, its just been stretched flat by my expanding belly.  My maternity shirts are too short now.

My midwife mentioned I would be full-term on Saturday, at 37 weeks.  Wow, how did that happen?  With Brendan I was so self-centered about the pregnancy. I thought if I missed reading one of the "your pregnancy this week" e-mails I would be DOING IT WRONG.

I was supposed to bring in a snack to the La Leche League meeting today.  I sort of forgot, so I took what was at hand and sliced up some apples and brought some crackers and nutella.  It was a big hit, especially with the kids there.

Earthquake

The biggest earthquake to hit the DC area just happened. It felt like a truck was driving over our house. We were all fine here, the only thing that happened was our CDs fell off the bookshelf. My neighbors all ran outside so we went out and chatted with everyone for a bit.

I can't even text out right now. I was able to get in touch with Matthew via Yahoo. Chat

Aquarium

Today was the National Aquarium in Baltimore's 30th birthday, so they had a $5 admission for people turning 30 this year. Usually admission is 25 bucks, so it was a great deal. I love when they have a deal made specially for me!

The first place we went was the cafe, where they had cupcakes for the first 1,000 visitors. Brendan ate half his, then got a gleam in his eye and started yelling and running around like a crazy person in the cafe.

Right before the craziness.

Then we went to the gift shop, where Brendan excitedly pointed out all the balls.

We stopped at the big tubes that blog bubbles, where he ran around with other toddlers.

Then we found the children's area, where he played in the sand finding shells and pushed all the puppets out of the theater.

The only thing he did NOT like was the actual fish. After spending two hours there, I was determined to drag him over to the exhibits. He liked the Ray pool, but he kept trying to jump in, even from the third floor. Everything else I tried to show him he just said "No, No."

I guess we'll wait until next summer before we go back. At least it was only $5.
