200 pounds

Yesterday at the OB I weighed in at exactly 200 lbs. I was 180 before I got pregnant, dipped down for a while with the horrible morning sickness, and now am huge! My belly is really big now. I'm shocked when I glance down at it. Yesterday in the waiting room I looked down and could see my shirt move when he kicked. He's on a really active spree right now. I can always get him to kick when I roll off my left side onto my back in bed. I'm probably tilting him and he's trying to get back to a comfortable position.

I went home for Easter, and my brother Trevor threw me a baby shower. I went from having almost nothing to having almost everything I need now except for a swing. I guess that's the point of the shower. My mother went absolutely insane buying baby clothes. I don't think I need anything else for him for the first six months. I washed them all at home since I don't have a dryer here. Now they're packed away and ready to be worn. My uncle got him a Wegman's outfit. Who knew they made baby clothes? I got to see some of my friends from high school, including one I hadn't seen in five years, but we've recently reconnected via facebook.

My grandmother is really into making quilts, so at Christmas time we went to the fabric store and picked some material that she could make into one for the baby. Apparantly she has been doing nothing but working on this the last three months. It was a good excuse for her to go out and buy a state of the art sewing machine (it has a memory card!). She made two quilts with the material we gave her, and also made a fleece blanket, ten receiving blankets, and a thing to put in the shopping cart so my son won't actually touch the dirty bars. I'll post some pictures this weekend. The theme was jungle babies, and its so cute! Little elephants, lions, and monkeys.

I realized how lucky I am to have so many people who love me. Trevor put this all together for me in three weeks after he came to visit me and I told him I didn't think anybody was going to throw a shower for me. Mom bought so many little things for me, Grandma sewed her fingers to the bone, and Reagan drove with me for 12 hours roundtrip just so he could carry all the presents up to the third floor for me (Matthew was still in Nashville visiting his folks). This baby has been loved since before he'll even remember.

It's great!  Matthew and I only were in the same city for four months in the four years we were dating, so actually living in the same apartment was a big change.  I have the best husband in the world.  He is so giving, loving and a great cook.

Happy anniversary!
